Pope Francis I (pronunciation: /ˈfrænsɨs/, /ˈfrɑːnsɨs/; Latin: Papa Franciscus Primus [franˈtʃiskus]; Italian: Papa Francesco Primo; born Jorge Mario Bergoglio[a] on 17 December 1936) is the 266th and current pope of the Catholic Church, elected on 13 March 2013. In that role, he is both the leader of the Catholic Church and sovereign ruler of the Vatican City State. From 1998 until his election as pope, he served as the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, and was made a cardinal in 2001 by Pope John Paul II.
To the 1.2 Billion Catholics worldwide, having a new leader is an enormous liberation. It has obliterated negative impact from the recent resignation of Pope Benedict XVI raising some negative issues and concerns on Catholic Church.
Pope Jorge Mario Bergoglio, his real name, is known for being humble and is raised in a modest family being a son of a railroad worker. He is also compared to previous Pope John Paul II for being “conservative at the level of doctrine, and progressive on social issues”. As archbishop, it is said that he chooses to live a simple life living in an apartment rather than having a luxurious residence. He also travels by bus. His lifestyle is temperate and serious but wears a very pleasant personality and remains accessible to people.
Being a catholic myself, I am praying and hoping that Pope Francis I can extend and devote more of his time on important issues on Catholic Church. I hope he can travel further and reach out to people, Catholic or non-Catholics and truly impart to the world the real essence of Papacy.
Pope Francis I: our prayers are with you!
Being an Asteroid Danger Zone is a freaky place to live in.
While this is so, do you know that the Philippines is one of the couple of countries that are actually located in a this danger zone? To some who does their research and homework, this is no longer a surprise. But for many who are simply busy with their ordinary day-to-day living, they may have no idea and may not have preparations on catastrophes like this.
Just the other day, thousands of people were injured and hurt after a destructive meteor shower hits Siberia in Russia. Although this event has been expected by researchers, people still have nowhere to go or may have not been prepared for this to take place. The number of people hurt was alarming and rose concerns in other areas and locations.
In a research study made in 2007, it appeared that the Philippines sits an a danger zone with high percentage of being hit by Asteroids and meteor showers.
Other countries included in the zone are:
• United States
NASA reported that there are currently about 47,000 potentially hazard asteroids with the size of about 300 Feet wide seen from a distance of 500 Million miles away from Earth. In other words, these sizes of asteroid are big enough to enter the Earth’s atmosphere.
Asteroid threat is not a small concern and this is already accepted as a great natural calamity for mankind. But for most people who may have died in similar incident, the major cause of deaths are mostly not due to the impact of the asteroid but the human unpreparedness to face any kind of natural calamity.
How about you, do you think you have prepared your family for this kind of event? We may need a Google Earth Asteroid to just have a virtual impact.
The Roman Catholic Church in crisis?
The first Papal resignation after 598 years has brought a lot of noise around the world. This comes after Pope Benedict XVI also known as the former Cardinal Joseph Alois Ratzinger has announced to resign as the Top Leader of the Vatican rumored to have health concerns. However, Vatican history experts and other reference made it a point that the resignation has nothing to do with the Pope’s health.
Pope Benedict XVI who was born in Bavaria, Germany on April 16 1927 is now 85 years old.
Church observers believe that the said announcement has drawn activity of factionalism inside the Vatican which may come into a leadership crisis. However, there is no further reports on how the faction has been affecting the daily routine of the Roman Catholic Church leadership.
According to reports by other agencies, Pope Benedict XVI’s resignation is a retirement process after the 85 year-old Pope showed increased public sign of fatigue during the recent months.
The Pope will continue to be the leader of the Roman Catholic Church until he officially steps down on February 28, 2013 which day is also coincidentally the feast day of a 5th Century Pope, Saint Hilarius.
The LA Lakers, an American Professional Basketball Team; American Singer-Songwriter Frank Ocean; American Rapper Rick Ross and Professional Golf Legend Tiger Woods named in a jailbreak?
You may be asking if those guys are really going into jailbreaking.
Guys, don’t take it the way it may have come first in your mind. Its just a parody. But in reality, I am mentioning an operating system jailbreak and this is the iOS 6.1.
First possibility to have it done is when you are using an older version devices. Apple’s latest OS can be jailbroken using Redsn0w version 0.9.15b3. However, doing this requires that your device have to be connected to a computer every time that you have to start the device.
This newest version of Redsnow only support older version of i-devices from iphone 4 below but not on the new iphone 5 or other latest version of i-devices.
Some developers are now working to improve the ware that it will no longer require start-up of devices through computer connections. They are also looking into further development that newer versions of devices such as iphone 5 and other latest gadgets will be able to be supported by this jailbreak ware.
So bet yah, Tiger Woods, the Lakers, Rick Ross and everybody can do this jailbreak on iOS 6.1.
When we talked the last time about gold in the Philippines and why foreign settlers who loves gold choses to settle in this country, I thought of expounding more idea about this topic.
It is also for some people’s awareness that they should understand where gold in the Philippines are extracted from.
Basically, natural gold in the Philippines comes from highly-mineralized soil and that means you will not just find gold minerals in the soil but also other solid elements such as silver, ore, aluminum, etc.
In the norms, gold are extracted in volume through the process of mining. Mining operation may come in a way of digging holes into the deeper part of the ground, and once the tested soil becomes positive with the characteristics of gold presence, the soil is transferred to a soil storage area before relayed to a conveyor in its way to a ball mill.
The ball mill crushes hard soils and rocks (pulverization) into smaller bits until it becomes almost 96% crushed. By this process, the gold may have already come out and separated from its holder soil or rock. This gold comes down to a strainer and separates from the rock and soil. The rock and soil will go further for more grinding process until completely powdered and those extracted will be collected for drying, split into fractions for sampling, analysis and further going into assay process.
Assay process is where the potential gold and silver bearing solid is being melted and treated with chemical to properly identify accurately how the metal (gold or silver) may be valuable bring out its best quality or grade and to understand its value.
Assay process has been present since about 500 years ago and the most common is the fire assay. At the current times however, there are more advance assay process equipment that are being use by advance operation mining companies such as atomic absorption, mass spectroscopy and other advance techniques.
I will not discuss further in details what is being done in the whole process but it basically goes like what has been mentioned above: the Philippines gold mining process in layman terms.
On the other hand, some mining operations extract the soil directly by scraping the ground. This may be look upon as almost the same as quarrying operations where the scraped soil is also transferred to a soil storage area before going to the milling process.
But there is more to this, Gold Panning is another process where people recovers gold particles from soil which were brought by erosion and flowed into rivers and streams. Some people who are into gold panning uses a pan to separate river soil and the gold particle apart. Though this may not be a big extraction operation, this is also an awesome money maker to many.
Gold extraction in the Philippines takes a lot of process and takes the Philippine gold price into the next level.
I may be discussing the process further in my next article but meantime, those process mentioned above are the basics of extracting natural gold in the Philippines.
